When I first saw the final boss of Transformers on Famicom, Mechagodzilla or whatever, I thought it was Grimlock of the Dinobots, but that can’t be right seeing as how Grimlock is an Autobot. Unless the Decepticons were controlling his mind or the game designers fucked it up and thought he was a bad guy.
The new video was fantastic. Did you really drink all that hot sauce, or was that fake hot sauce?
I’m wondering the same thing. I’m a bit of a hot sauce fan myself and it just looks awesome to see somebody drink it straight, with a straight face. Also last Saturday one of the TV chanels where I live had a Transformers marathon all day. That show is still awesome after all these years. Shows nowadays never take themselves seriously.
Awesome job James. I don’t know if you know or not, but the C64 game was available on floppy as well. It was one of the first games I got for the C64. I don’t know if your cassette has the same intro, but the floppy had a story intro with complete with voice. It was awful but it was the first voice I had ever heard in a game.
Let me know if you want more of Billy’s hot sauce, I’ve got the hook up.
Well, James, being a G1 Transformers nerd (not to the point I could recite episodes by heart, but still), the final boss was supposed to be Trypticon ( http://www.unicron.us/tf1986/figures/trypticon.htm ). There was also a fan-hack of Doki Doki Panic which had been made over and released in North America as Super Mario Brothers 2, which used the Dinobots as characters. Never did play it much to see how much was hacked, boss-wise.
I’ve seen the intro on YouTube which is pretty impressive for a C64 game. I was wondering why it wasn’t on my version, but you may have answered it. Perhaps it’s just the floppy version. So thanks for finally clearing that up for me.
It’s damn good hot sauce, but I would not recommend pouring it into your mouth like I did. I had to do several takes, so by the end, my face was on fire.
I think Mike put too much effort into the Nerd-Card this time. To be more true to the games it should pretty much just be Megatron on there, and maybe just written names for the rest of the Transformers.
I’m glad this shit pile of a game was overseas and far far away from the NES library. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Transformers a primarily North American based franchise? It seems weird that there was only a release for the Famicom and not the NES.
Way to go too James for not throwing the game out the window after 2 stages. It’s rare to see you play such a shitty game to the end.
Yea thats the shitty transformers game i had on my 52 games in 0ne cartrige years ago. I hated that game. I cant believe u sat there and beat it.Mad props to you for your patience and all the hairs you must have pulled out of your head, lol. That was funny when u called Tripticon mecha-godzilla. Im a huge transformers fan,i got a bunch of toys, all the epidoes, and megatron tattooed on my whole right forearm. I loved the vid,i hope u do the famicon disc system and games soon since i see you got yourself a famicon. Also i like the music for castlevania 2 and zelda disc versions alot, got them on mp3. I might grab me a famicon from ebay someday,i stil have my nes and im starting to build my library again. Now i have to buy close to 200 games i had once all over again and then some. Cant wait for the next vid, keep it up,the nostalgia will ever die. Metal to the core!! \m/
Btw,Billy Mitchell lives 30 mines away from me actually.I havent been to his restuarant yet,im gonna buy some of his hotsauce and try it out.I love hotsauce, maybe ill bump into him there too.
Awesome! Transformers on the C64 was the first game I ever got for mine, except mine was the disk version. That music brings back so many memories. And I never did figure out how in the world to play the game. I would always just take whatever Autobot I had selected and head to the blinking areas and fight whatever Decepticons were flying around. But on the bright side, that game had an AWESOME cinematic with lots of digital speech, which at the time (1985 or so) I thought was just mind-blowing.
Kudos for a great review, Nerd. I hope you start adding in some more C64 games to the mix. Lots of great AND awful ones to choose from.
Man, that review was great! It certainly nailed pretty much everything that irritated me about that game.
I also loved how the Nerd couldn’t sit far away due to the cord’s shortness with the Famicom. I actually played with a Famicom as a kid and I forgot how short the cord was.
@Tangent on Transformers primarily a North America franchise. Sort of. To sum it up, Hasbro got the rights to a few different toyline from Takara (particularly Diaclone and Microman) and got some writers to write the back story for the robots and ends up being the basis of Transformers. After Transformers became popular, Takara retired the Diaclone and Microman line, which Convoy (you and I know him better as Optimus Prime) and Megatron came from respectively and put them as part of Transformers. Not to mention, the animation for Transformers was actually outsourced to a Japanese animation studio for some of the series (it’s Toei). Oh yeah, Takara was the one behind that dreadful Famicom game reviewed.
Hope that answers your question. I know, I heard a little remark on the confusion if Transformers is considered Japanese animation despite having more of a North America attitude.
Since AVGN showed off his Famicom Disk System for the Transformers review, I take it I can expect him to rip apart Transformers: The Headmasters in the next video.
“Since AVGN showed off his Famicom Disk System for the Transformers review, I take it I can expect him to rip apart Transformers: The Headmasters in the next video.”
Hi there. I enjoyed this new video very much. Didn’t expect you to drink the hot sauce straight…was that for real or did you substitute something else?
I think I can help you interpret the ending screen because I speak some Japanese. It says:
“ALERT!” (in red)
“The Decepticons have been resurrected via a new power. Take back the ‘Rodimus’ energon cubes and destroy the decepticons!
Scramble! Ultramagnus!”
…so I guess they want you to play the game again.
Also, I currently live in Japan, so if you need a particular Famicon cable I’m sure I can find it in a used shop around here. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the laughs so far!
I knew it was only a matter of time before you made a Transformers episode and what a good (or should I say crappy?) episode it was.
James, there is no direct cable between the Famicom and the disk drive. A black box (the drive controller) plugs into the top of the Famicom and a cable leading out of the back of it connects to the drive. I bid you the best of luck finding that controller as they are normally not separated from the drive.
This episode wasn’t so hot, got a little long in the middle, I can understand showing bad collision detection in a game, but going over it again and again especially since most of us have experienced bad collision detection in games ourselves.
There’s other transformers games that could have been looked at, they made a Beast Wars game at one time that I remember playing on the PC at one time. I mean for the most part in this episode we’re watching the same game which basically looks like the same thing over and over again, you sort of break it up a bit by bringing in the hot sauce bit but the episode could have been shorter or had some additional stuff in it.
There was a second Transformers game made for the commodore (around the same time) that was alot better than the one shown here
tho it was similar in appearance to the nes/famicom one you played, it looked better than the nes one in terms of gameplay, but it was still pretty hard
I was reading through Wikipedia on this game transformer game he just played and noticed there was a sequel. Look what is said about the sequel if you can believe it:
Transformers: The Headmasters
“The game is considered far more difficult than Convoy no Nazo, due to onslaught of bizarre enemy projectiles that move in all directions.”
I loved this episode! These unfogiving, impossible-due-to-shit-design games are always hilarious!
Also, something wierd – I was just listening to the soundtrack to Ninja Gaiden while waiting for the video to load, and then I hear that song in the video… I thought for a second I had somehow accidentally triggered play on WMV. What’s great is that it was my favorite song from the game, too!
Well I would say James should review some G.I Joe games next what with the new movie coming out and all, but the 2 G.I Joe games on NES are actually pretty good games.
Hey where did u get that limited edition pacman pepper sauce?? I cant find it online or anything. Might have to drop by Billy Mitchel’s restaurant sometime.
I’m also glad this Famicom game got never released outside of Japan, mainly because of its horrendious difficulty. The end screen is in Japanese written in Romanji (Latin) characters.
But there is one game which is way more messed up than the Famicom “Transformers” game: Action 52 on the NES.
Cutest Optimus Prime ever. He should come back randomly in future episodes and attack you (or get into swearing fights) when he doesn’t like your reviews.
Hilarious as always. It’s so impressive that you always come up with such good material and get these out so quickly. You never disappoint James! Thanks for bringing us such fantastic entertainment.
Nice review !!! I remember playing transformers on the commodore 64 but it was a different game. I believe the one that you were playing is called The Transformers: Battle to save the earth and the other one on the commodore was just called The Transformers and it was released by Ocean.
On the forums I told your friend Mike that you were actually playing Transformers by Activision not Ocean version which is incorrectly labeled as the one you have.
As for the last one you did I think we all can agree no other Transformers game is this bad seriously I don’t think many people would care about it otherwise mainly it’s too fucking hard.
LOL That was great. Epically the ending. I was loling at the end. I didn’t know you got a famicom system.
Do you think you might consider doing a video on lost nes titles from japan? I know there was many games over there that the US fans didn’t get to play like Final fantasy 2 and final fantasy 3 at that time. I once played the game based of the anime movie The Venus wars and that game was great!
Also i can’t belive they made Labyrinth for the NES. Still i hope you’ll do one on NES/famicom japanese games sometimes. There were some true hidden treasures fans never got to play. Thanks again James and keep up the awesome work!
This review is a perfect example of why NOT to be a UIB, why we don’t want James’ work being affected by the UIBs, and why the UIBs need to SHUT THE FUCK UP AND WAIT FOR HIM TO MAKE THE F*ING REVIEW!!!!!!
I don’t care if he gets paid to do this. Quality work takes time, and this one happens to be an
This was great… simply great, as always James. I was about to do my usual nerdy Transformers fandom corrections; but it seems others have already tended to that. Trypticon being called Mecha-Godzilla… too funny. It doesn’t help that he’s silver and not the right colors that Trypticon is. And Famicus Prime… the Shoryouken to Megatron on the picture. Great and classic! Hahahaha.
If you lived in Europe (Denmark) during the eighties, you had a C64 and all you games were on casette tapes. Using a “turbo tape” speeded up the procedure of loading cracked games though. Absolutely NOBODY had the N.E.S., and nobody bought original games, you copied them from your friends.
I think it’s funny how everybody asks why this game was never released outside of Japan, but the TRUTH is shocking: the Japanese got this GAME instead of the g1 MOVIE. In other words: WE ARE LUCKY. Japan didn’t get the movie until the early 90’s.
Seriously, we got the masterpiece of TF awesomeness and not the masterpiece of Famicom shittiness that the Japanese got.
And to make things worse, Convoy no Nazo was released on their Virtual Console.!!!
James, I got to play a translated version of that Famicom atrocity (maybe because I’m such a masochist for shittiness), and you can do the continue trick on Level 1 if you’re so inclined.
ha!my youngest son who played the second game on a simulator downloaded by an older brother agrees with you wholeheartedly! what kind of masochists MAKE games like this?
The Ocean C64 version of the game was what I played. Also a side scroller, in a way….but I agree with the reviewer, it was very very hard. I could never beat that game, back then.
James, you’re groans of frustration and anguish are the best. That never gets old. So damn funny. Just when I think this might start to get old you come up with more good shit. The Billy Mitchell hot sauce was unexpected and great.
Billy Mitchell. Damn. He’s a badass. If I was a Super Villain. Then I would be Billy Mitchell. Glad the sauce is good, I was thinking of ordering some in the future… But. Where was I?
Oh yeah. Great review James. More of the nerd than some of the other reviews, and a pretty funny one too. I loved it when you pulled the controller to your chest and pulled the entire system with you. And I also loved how it ended. Great review.
BTW. If you play the new Ghostbusters video game and look around in the firehouse… I think you’ll see something mighty familiar…
Hey James, great video, as always. Convoy No Naso is indeed a horrible game, as I can attest to playing in a couple of times. Looking forward to your Transformers 2 movie review in the future!
Happily for you, there’s still hope for a good Transformers game – it’s the Atari made Playstation 2 Transformers. It’s a pretty awesome adventure/shooter, the only real problem is that you can only use three Transformers: Red Alert, Optimus and HotRod (not sure it is Hotrod, he stinks anyway!). You should try this game out if you get a chance, totally worth it.
[...] just what I got as I wanted to download the newest AVGN episode. I do not like websites which do that – especially if they didn’t before. It is just [...]
Wow, I never expected James would mention the Famicom. maybe you could have said more, but this video was TRANSFORMERS, so maybe next time.
the reason this game is subtitled “Mystery of Optimus Prime” is ‘Transformers the movie(the old one)’ was released after season 3 in Japan, so japanese fans were like “Where the hell is Optimus Prime and why is Rodimus Prime the leader?” so this game was suppose to be the explanation – OP is dying and it’s RP’s job to save the world.
but I highly doubt that Transformers was a big hit in Japan like it was in America. sure it was hit enough to have a game based on it, but Japan in the 80s was “the Golden age of Robot animations” and there was so much of them to watch. so Transformers had trouble rivaling with other robot animations.
I’ve looked, nobody seems to have requested a review from James for this game:
Yo Bro! for the TurboGrafix 16
It is one of the most ultimate shitbombs I have ever come across! It is annoying, frustrating, the controls suck ass, the gameplay is horribly repetitive and yet varied at the same time, and worst of all, the main character spouts continual 80’s catch phrases.
See the premise (I believe, it’s been a while) is your beach-side city is infested with all kinds of creatures you have to seek out and destroy. This game is the exact same thing as Zombies Ate My Neighbors. But let me say this over and over
SHITBOMB
SHIT BOMB
this game is a titanic SHITBOMB
AFTER watching your older videos, you don’t seem as angry anymore. Don’t get me wrong here, but i notice people saying ” great review and good video” compared to “FUNNIEST SHIT I’VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME”.
You just sound tired.
I do still enjoy your videos, but i haven’t really laughed my ass off since the 2008’s videos.
I just watched the bugs bunny episode again and the caliber compared to this latest videos is COMPLETELY different. You used to be loud, excited, jumping around and in that episode and have 10x more one-liners.
ALL im saying is that your a fantastic film-maker and your AVGN character is pure classic. You’ll always have my support in whatever you do, but it just feels like something is missing recently. Just stating ‘my’ honest opinion.
I thought for sure you would review that one. I only remember playing it a couple times, and always wanting to play more of it, cause I was like 10 and our whole world was video games and Transformers . I really can’t remember how good/bad it was.
Hey, great show as usual, I really like what your doing. It’s really creative and fun to watch. But i have one small request though, I would like you to review the game: Another World on the SNES system. Because that game is really hard and secretive. It gives you no hints on anything really, you have to die a lot of times and just try everything to pass a stage, and the graphics are weird too… can you please make a review on that game. That would be great
WTFCKR: i agree…)
but i would like him to review dragons lair on c64.. i know he allready showed the nes version but this is far from it…even harder…weirder.. and the part when you die is really fucked up
Tron62, I think the anger level being lower has mostly been a deliberate choice. It’s probably gotten a bit tiresome doing that for several years in a row. I will agree that the Nerd seems less genuinely angry in the newer videos, but I feel a lot of the time that is because James lacks the personal connection to these games he had with a lot of the old games.
It’s still entertaining, as James is a decent actor (obviously, considering in the early days how many took the character at face value).
But, I will say I think the sort-of “exploratory” Nerd videos are amongst the most consistently entertaining ones. By that, I mean Moonwalker and the Odyssey, both 2009. They’re more about the playing experience of weird stuff, and sharing observations of them through an amusing filter. Great stuff, I think, but I’m big into old school games so maybe that is part of it. The Board James reviews use a similar style, and they’re also really good.
Ohh my god, you own a Famicom now?
Seriously, Takeshi no Chousenjou is a must-do.
There wouldn’t be that much to say about it, since it was made to be a bad game, but just, wow.
Fucking Awesome Game!!!
….maybe compared to shit!
(thx James to prevent us to play it now and ever!)
Please review Forbidden Siren for Ps2…I’m sure that it’l make you crazy!!! (if you don’t have a Ps2 I’ll send you both console and this horrible game!!!)
;P
I know a website with most of the nintendo games from the 80’s and early 90’s. Its called nintendo8.com. You should check it out james its a good website.
Where do you start really? A rare Commodore 64 review? An open ending? The introduction of a Famicom to his reviews (SMB2 comes to mind)? A (sarcastic?) mention of Billy Mitchell?
Just when James gets dull and boring, he blows you out of the water. Easily one of the top 5 reviews he has done. Ever.
Still awaiting you in Austin, TX for SXSW. Make it good, and make it well. And we have plenty of BBQ sauce and cold beer to blow that S%@T out of the water!!!
Okay, I rewatched it, and realized I forgot about the Zelda enemies being scared of loud noises. I always figured it was meaning bombs (not too many quiet bombs), also, being the AVGN, fan-hacks probably will never even get mentioned (seriously, who decided we needed to see the dongs in Mike Tyson’s Punch Out? I saw Nude Punch Out and thought I’d be fighting chicks, not seeing dicks).
When he does get around to doing PS2 games (probably when the PS5 comes out, if there isn’t some next-gen console war that kicks Sony out of the game), there will be a vast selection. Before, if you didn’t have someone else to talk to that had played tons of games, you could end up renting a shitty game and ruining your weekend. Back then, if it wasn’t tons of steaming piles of donkey crap, you could try and make fun with it. Lord knows I tried with the first two Bart vs. games.
Shoot, I hope he covers the Simpsons Wrestling game one day, a game with two of my favorites with great potential. Imagine Bart dropkicking Lisa, Duffman putting Mr. Smithers in a headlock, Itchy piledriving Scratchy, Homer trying to run the ropes until he gets tired and asks for a beer, but devolved into something that almost made me hate both the Simpsons and Wrestling. Shoot, drop the pinfalls and have a ten-count system in its place and they could’ve called it Simpsons Boxing.
This is one of the most famous shitty NES games in Japan.
Maybe, it can be said that you always hear this title when you talk about shitty games there.(I’m from Japan and I found this game when I was 5)
If it didn’t make it to the US, it made it to Europe at least.
The idea was cool, you had the famous characters, could transform to car mode and could fly. Every character had his own stats and appearance, you can even tell which one is supposed to be which
to expand on what people were saying about Game master CX earlier, id also like to point out that your congratulation screen that you couldnt even read wasnt actually a congratulation screen at all, it actually tells you to start again and collect all these power cubes and complete the game, upon doing that you must complete the game a third time as a new character
Right on James! -moonwalks-
Autobots Inferior…Decepticons Superior
Can we expect an Action 52 review? Hopefully!
The new video was fantastic. Did you really drink all that hot sauce, or was that fake hot sauce?
When I first saw the final boss of Transformers on Famicom, Mechagodzilla or whatever, I thought it was Grimlock of the Dinobots, but that can’t be right seeing as how Grimlock is an Autobot. Unless the Decepticons were controlling his mind or the game designers fucked it up and thought he was a bad guy.
brilliant James. The basic-style reviews are often the strongest, keep it up!
YAY!!!
Now that you have a Famicom, could you possibly review the infamously shitty game “Takeshi’s Challenge?”
Takeshi’s Challenge was fucking horrible worse than most bad games on the console.
Good to see you getting more angry like the older videos.
lol funny stuff.

Once again another superb episode! I look forward to the next.
I didn’t know those existed. It’s nice to see the various systems even though you have to play the shitty games that go with it.
The best part has to be the Transformers music on the commodore.
I wonder how old that hotsauce is…
I liked it, but what about the Rolling Rock??? I hope the next AVGN your super pissed off!!!!

Nice to see that you have a Famicom. That’s a system I want to try to get my hands on some time.
Just search on eBay for a cord to your disk system. I swear you can find everything on there these days….
good review never knew of these games kinda glad too

I have to correct myself here…
“Since AVGN showed off his Famicom Disk System for the Transformers review, I take it I can expect him to rip apart Transformers: The Headmasters in the next video.”
That is…if he can get that cable he needs.

In Japan, this game is known as the first game which Takara (now,”Takara-Tomy”) made and as one of the worst game ever made.
Great episode as always.
Lol. Famicus Prime rocks.
Great review, James.
I’m also glad this Famicom game got never released outside of Japan, mainly because of its horrendious difficulty. The end screen is in Japanese written in Romanji (Latin) characters.
But there is one game which is way more messed up than the Famicom “Transformers” game: Action 52 on the NES.
Great review…amazing how so many consoles did the “short cord” bullcrap…that is so annoying!
Little Miss Claira reviews The Next Karate Kid!
Cutest Optimus Prime ever. He should come back randomly in future episodes and attack you (or get into swearing fights) when he doesn’t like your reviews.
Next time will you do a critters movie review or game review please that would be fucking funny so I hope you see my comment by the way nice video
James I’m a huge fan!
Your AVGN Videos Epic like always, buy I think the levels of Angry are very, very low.
Hilarious as always. It’s so impressive that you always come up with such good material and get these out so quickly. You never disappoint James! Thanks for bringing us such fantastic entertainment.
Let me get this straight, James. You’re delivering a shoryuken to Megatron’s face zone? Classic pic right there.
Nice review !!! I remember playing transformers on the commodore 64 but it was a different game. I believe the one that you were playing is called The Transformers: Battle to save the earth and the other one on the commodore was just called The Transformers and it was released by Ocean.
If I can find the disk it is on I will send it to you:
http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/The_Transformers_(Commodore_64)
Better synopsis of the game and my feelings while playing it: http://www.infinitefrontiers.0catch.com/TransformersC64.htm
Mmmm hotsauce. Great video. Site’s really beefing up, James!
I loved this episode, very classic in the simon’s quest era. Just the pure struggle with bad gameplay mechanics.
I laughed historically at the part where you beat megatron and was wrapping up your review only to find out there’s a stage 10 haha.
Quality work takes time, and this one happens to be an
A
Solid A
This was great… simply great, as always James.
Here’s the Ram adapter you need for you disk system.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jap-Nintendo-FAMICOM-DISK-SYSTEM-RAM-ADAPTER-HVC-023-jp_W0QQitemZ190315343990QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN?hash=item2c4fadb076&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177&_trkparms=240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
James, I got to play a translated version of that Famicom atrocity (maybe because I’m such a masochist for shittiness), and you can do the continue trick on Level 1 if you’re so inclined.
I like that you went with the Famicom for this review. Was hoping you’d play some Japanese games sometime.
AWSOMENESS x10 MAN GREAT VIDEO I LAUGHT MY ASS OFF XD
IT WAS AS FUNNY AS THE BUGS BUNNY BIRTHDAY BLOW OUT VIDEO.
BUT TO TRUTHFUL THE BUGS BUNNY VIDEO WAS THE FUNNIST
OF ALL TIME.
GREAT STUFF DUDE!
ha!my youngest son who played the second game on a simulator downloaded by an older brother agrees with you wholeheartedly! what kind of masochists MAKE games like this?
The Ocean C64 version of the game was what I played. Also a side scroller, in a way….but I agree with the reviewer, it was very very hard. I could never beat that game, back then.
Mike once again, freaking awesome job.
I remember playing Transformers on my friend’s famicom system. It was retarded!
Love your videos James.
Basic reviews are always welcomed. Very nice video James and of course look forward to the next.
Probably Mike’s best artwork thus far. Quite nice.
am i weird for being anxious for the next board james?
A BIG REQUEST FOR A FUTURE AVGN VIDEO
But let me say this over and over
SHITBOMB
SHIT BOMB
this game is a titanic SHITBOMB
it’s so bad you’ll love it
James…just a suggestion.
it makes wally bear and the no gang seem like mario 3
Great cliffhanger ending…can’t wait to see what you do for the next episode.
Great
I like it!
in Chinese“我喜欢!”
I dare you to review Action 52 and Chou Aniki.
I mean, nobody can stand those ones.
I’ ll translate the ending(10:39) into English:
Emergency:
Decepticons[1] were back becoming stronger with their new power.
Using “Enerugon-Kyubu”[2] which Rodimus had, defeat Decepticons again!
[1] “Desutoron” means Decepticons.
[2] “Kyubu” is the same as “cube.” We must talk about Japanese if we understand why it is so.
“In conclusion, all I can say about this game….WHAT THE FUCK??? STAGE 10???”
That was awesome, keep up the good work James!!
Love the show as usual James. Big fan
This is the C64 Transformers game I remember as a kid though:
http://www.infinitefrontiers.0catch.com/TransformersC64.htm
I thought for sure you would review that one. I only remember playing it a couple times, and always wanting to play more of it, cause I was like 10 and our whole world was video games and Transformers
. I really can’t remember how good/bad it was.
Any thoughts on that game bro?
Hey, great show as usual, I really like what your doing. It’s really creative and fun to watch. But i have one small request though, I would like you to review the game: Another World on the SNES system. Because that game is really hard and secretive. It gives you no hints on anything really, you have to die a lot of times and just try everything to pass a stage, and the graphics are weird too… can you please make a review on that game. That would be great
Another World is actually an interesting game. Too much of the try-and-die gameplay, but it’s not too bad.
WTFCKR: i agree…)
but i would like him to review dragons lair on c64.. i know he allready showed the nes version but this is far from it…even harder…weirder.. and the part when you die is really fucked up
GREAT Review James! keep doing what you do!
so when is the next cinemassacre review coming out
@grant2012
maybe when he has rested (he has a weekend you know), then he’ll start to be creative again.
THAT must be one of the worst games ever!
very nice efects on the end, great optmus famicom!
Wow, this time the AVGN was beaten up !!!!!
By optimus famicon XD ….. i watch the animated movie of transformers on TV 4 years ago and it surprise me, it has so much drawing work.
when i was a child i didnt have a NES …. but a Famicon o.o , crazy huh <_< (im from mexico) … that red square controls hurt my hands.
I love that small cartridges, now you see that SNES cartridges are a waste of plastic XD … but america likes it bigger <_<
THIS VIDEO WAS REALLY FUNNY I LOVE THE HOT SAUCE PART LOL GREAT VIDEO NERD GOMO GOMO NOOOOOOOOOOO PISTOL
[...] Angry Video Game Nerd briefly touched upon this game and how bad it is. Though the box art does not show it, the [...]
Fucking Awesome Game!!!
….maybe compared to shit!
(thx James to prevent us to play it now and ever!)
Please review Forbidden Siren for Ps2…I’m sure that it’l make you crazy!!! (if you don’t have a Ps2 I’ll send you both console and this horrible game!!!)
;P
@ Outlanders
He won’t review games past the N64/Playstation era.
Remember the first verse of his title song:
“He’s gonna take you back to the past…”
@ L -Guy7
Maybe he will review other console games in the future
For a lot of people Ps2 will be “The Past”
And by the way
Forbidden Siren it’s not so bad the only problem is tha is one of the most hard and frustrating game Ever!!!
I love this kinde of game reviews
thats why im watching you
Yeahhh, that’s what i like : the AVGN, playing some shitty game, and getting pissed off at it !
your genuihne trademark !
Thanks a mot James !
I know a website with most of the nintendo games from the 80’s and early 90’s. Its called nintendo8.com. You should check it out james its a good website.
@ Outlanders
He probably will. I may see him reviewing PS2 games around 2015. By the way, when did “Forbidden Siren” come out?
Where do you start really? A rare Commodore 64 review? An open ending? The introduction of a Famicom to his reviews (SMB2 comes to mind)? A (sarcastic?) mention of Billy Mitchell?
Just when James gets dull and boring, he blows you out of the water. Easily one of the top 5 reviews he has done. Ever.
Still awaiting you in Austin, TX for SXSW. Make it good, and make it well. And we have plenty of BBQ sauce and cold beer to blow that S%@T out of the water!!!
Great job on the AVGN series James, keep ‘em coming.
Four words: Krusty’s Super Fun House. *Shudder*
Tripticon. I was wondering why Ultra Magnus would fight Grimlock, but then I recognized the cannons on his back.
Ugh! Tripticon? Really? What a steaming pile of stink!
Great as always.
Will you review the second Transformers movie?
can you do the same with rayman the old games
for the review it was so cool
Hey,can you do Contest
for the best angry video game kid.It will be alsome.
This is one of the most famous shitty NES games in Japan.
Maybe, it can be said that you always hear this title when you talk about shitty games there.(I’m from Japan and I found this game when I was 5)
i found 3 of those commodore audio casette games.
Do you want them ? I dont know if they will work because they are PAL versions
Shinya Arino played the famicom game on Game Center CX

This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTcL8kcppMg is the other Transformers for c64 from 1985 by Ocean.
If it didn’t make it to the US, it made it to Europe at least.
The idea was cool, you had the famous characters, could transform to car mode and could fly. Every character had his own stats and appearance, you can even tell which one is supposed to be which
But it was hard as fuck.
to expand on what people were saying about Game master CX earlier, id also like to point out that your congratulation screen that you couldnt even read wasnt actually a congratulation screen at all, it actually tells you to start again and collect all these power cubes and complete the game, upon doing that you must complete the game a third time as a new character
the whole video for it is here
