the cementary at night really looked like a real one… awesome camera-illusion. Ah, in some scenes you can see color (more than just red
)
And, the Spinal-Zombie-up-the-Ass scene… It was so hilarious! same with the car-zombie. (I don’t know why but I had to laugh really hard when the zombie hit the honk XD) The weird thing is… why are those splatter things so funny?… I mean, it’s terrible actually XD
I really would like to see how the people reacted back than.
awesomeness talking
I totally loved this movie! Even if you don t have that much money but your effects are as quite the same as those in Sin City! Just incredible!
James Rolfe, you rock!!
Quite impressive movie and good acting! The way you filmed it in your garage gives it a nice Ed Wood feeling. Was this story inspired by the 2 gravediggers appearing at the beginning of Plan 9 from Outer Space?
i loved the atmosphere in this flick, it felt so genuine. i would have had no idea it was done in your garage! Goretastic!
That was done very well. I’m sure it was a pain in the ass to make a garage look like a graveyard. I like the 50’s movie feel to it. The only thing that pissed me off was the ad at the bottom that kept popping up at the bottom every minute.
That was amazing! Everything about it looked so damn good! I’ve been watching loads of 50’s horror films recently (including Plan 9, The Giant Claw, and Teenagers from outer space) and you got the style down to the T. Seriously amazing, fair play
Men I LOVE THIS MOVIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But next time put more colors
James man, all I can say is a big well done, because many many hours have been out into this and it shows. Very goo atmosphere at the cemetery, loved the dialog, but the star is the music selection!
all in all thank you for this and dont stop doing what you love because you are great at it
Orestis, Greece
i wish i had friends and materials for making films like that … gg btw!
James,
I remember when you submitted this to the Rutger’s Camden Film Festival in ‘07 (I’m from the area, too). It was awesome then, it’s awesome now. I actually felt kinda guilty when I voted for my film in the audience award over yours, but I didn’t feel guilty for the shitty Sleepy Hallow film that was in competition.
-Matt Hilferty
PS. You know what’s bullshit? Films about rednecks waterboarding “terrorists” in their basement.
(I don’t even know if you remember any of these films I’m talking about)
Great movie!!!!
I don’t know if it’s becuase it’s in black and whit, but it feels really closed off… I don’t really know how to explain it (I’m swedsih…)
Awesome work! like how you don’t follow the common zombie rules and make your own version of a classic style!
I love this movie!!!
wow awsome movie mate just fantastic
awinspireing from the seanery to the scrip this just an awsome film
congrats
p.s love the “i need a vacation” line at the end lol
Another good movie. I like how the Zombies are depicted as pathetic beings that are sort of used in a game by the two guys.
Awesome movie your amazing james love your stuff
The graveyard was excellently crafted and brilliantly shot.
Its great the way that Lloyd is just so used to killing zombies that when one attacks him in his car, he casually kills it while still driving.
Steven Klaszky is awesome by the way. Is he required to say “batter up, bitch boy” in every one of your films?
Great short! My only complaints are that the lines were delivered awkwardly, and the music didn’t build up any tension, but other than that, this was great.
This movie is awesome. I love the music and the camera work. Head up the ass is funny. Oh and where did MEATLOAF find the time to do this movie.
Nice Movie James.
I finally got around to watching it. I wish i didn’t wait so long.
Really awesome movie. Really liked the old-school feel to it.
hah… i love this movie! Since i’m also big fan of classic zombie movies and Romeros works this film really was like made for me.
I like so much that Loyd guy, his voice and everything, really good acting i think.
i really enjoyed the movie, the contrasting works well, especially having colour on the blood while everything else being black and white. with the low budget you made use of what you had and you grabbed it by the balls so to speak
very impressive mate. all the best on other projects.
sharpy
This is my favorite of your films so far. The story line was simple and fun. I think the older graveyard guy was really good in his role. Great acting.
I like how you put that old 50’s classic music in and mixed it with a little modern stuff. I wish I saw this before the 200 movie….cause I was thinking of your basement the whole time during those cemetery scenes.
Great spin on the classic black and white too. I think black and white made your cemetery scenes that much spookier. Who needs color!
Well this is excellent. It’s exactly what I expected from the title, the deader the better. The deader they come the better and they’re handled nicely. The two contrasting characters were interesting. Lloyd is a badass mother fucker. The ending is one of the best zombie fight scenes I’ve seen.
Nice job.
I enjoyed watching this it was funny as hell and couldn’t stop laughing about the zombie head up it’s ass!!!!!! love the character’s.
“Making a living killing the dead” is such a great line. The overall movie is now one of my fav movies in the comedy horro genre. Its in the same field and near style of evil dead
great job, you are truly inspiring
I laughed my ass off
what a great movie
what an effort you’ve put into this
this is just brilliant
Did anybody else notice the names on the tombstones? It is nice how James paid a special little tribute to the great horro film stars of the past. The main tombstone you will see is the one of “Bela Blasko,” which was Bela Legosi’s original name before he changed it. Also, if you happen to stop it at 6:26, you will notice a tombstone to the left of the screen that has the names cutoff by a tombstone that happens to be blocking it, but the letters that are visible show the first name beginning with “Bor…” and the last name beginning with “Chan…” Obviously, “Boris Chaney” which would be a cross between actors Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney. It James’ attention to detail in small little things like this that continues to astound me.
Wow, I can honestly say I’ve never seen someone have their own spine shoved up their ass before.
What a HUGE amount of work for this film !
But the result is so great !!! It was 100% of good time watching your movie. Thanks a lot !
I see a lot of similarities to “Dellamorte Dellamore (1994)”. may be your inspiration source. If not, then definitely see it, great movie.
awsome movie
Awesome job on the sunrise at the end.
Haha, this was a great short. Loved every minute. Especially the zombie with it’s head up it’s ass, hahaha.
I really enjoyed watching this movie!
This cementary looked fuckin awesome! Great work!
Anyone know what this was shot on?
this was excellent. the humor and acting in this was great and so were the death scenes. this is a fantastic concept! y hasn’t come up with anything like this before (that i know of). 5/5
some humourin this as well. nice film.
thats a great weird twating amaizing film make a fucking part two i made up twating
.
Optics – pretty sure this was shot on a DVX100, like most of James stuff from the past 6 or 7 years. Great camera. Great cinematography here James – the best from you I’ve seen. Great lighting work.
Motherfucker Mike cheats even as a zombie. Look at him–he’s hiding in the backseat of the car AND he’s attacking during the day. What a fuck shit!
Great film, James. We need more of these.
