I love those brief clips in the beginning with the Castlevania mentions throughout the AVGN videos. Sort of like the shit/fuck reel stuff or one of the video introductions this year that showed a ton of rolling rock guzzling scenes in a matter of seconds.
Yes!! I’m so glad you chose Castlevania as your Halloween reviews. Symphony of the Night probably won’t be on the list, but I’ll enjoy everything else regardless.
I remember renting Castlevania as a kid and couldn’t even get past the first stage since it was so damn hard! Great review, and since it ended with an opening to re-review Castlevania 2 it would certainly be interesting how you would tackle it.
I’ve only played post-Symphony of the Night Castlevania games, so I’m excited to learn more about the older ones! It’s amazing how similar the first one looks to Symphony of the Night, though… everything from enemies to bosses to items to level design. Not that that’s a bad thing.
Well Im hoping for a SOTN review, the precedence has been set. He reviewed Superman 64 which came out in 1999 whereas SOTN came out in 97. So I have my fingers crossed ;D
I wish you would get to interview the creators of some of the games you review.
To finally get an answer to the question “what where they thinking?!”.
This does not concern the Castlevania series too much, except for maybe the day/night shift in Simon’s Quest. Things like that. Would be cool to know what’s really behind some of their ideas and decisions.
I must admit I actually liked Simon’s Quest as a chld, and so did many others. Sure the day/night shift is annoying but if you don’t know any better as a child you just think it has to be like that.
But that just on the side.
Main thing would still be interviewing some of the creators of the really bad games.
Some of them are surely still roaming the gaming industry
I love your videos but this is probably the worst one that you have made in the AVGN style. Probably because you werent in character. You got angry for a few moments but other than that its just like any one of your cinemassacre movie reviews. You didnt seem to be in AVGN character at all. Just a thought.
Haha, I like how your AVGN videos around halloween tie in with your MM videos. Its too bad that most of the people that watch AVGN probably don’t watch MM, because the references in there (Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney) are way funnier if you know who they are.
I am SO glad you are doing this series now, James. This makes you a God in my book. It took me 13 years to finally beat Castlevania for the first time. That is one hard bitch. I can’t wait until part 2.
This is full of win. Castlevania rocks and I would love to see a Simon’s Quest Redux. Also, to people saying the place they are posting, either write an actual comment or STFU.
Thanks for all the videos you’ve made. I’ve been a fan of yours for a couple years. The group of guys I hang out with all watch your videos and we always ask each other if we’ve seen the new Nerd!
Ironically enough I just beat that game on my NES for the first time this weekend and I’m working on III now. Looking forward to the Castlevania II re-review… a game that DEMANDS to be reviewed twice!
Great review! Lots of clever stuff in this one that makes it pretty damn funny. My favorite : breaking “the 4th wall” when you cut to the script of the episode!!!!
Dude, that’s just too funny. Simon’s Quest must be reviewed… AGAIN! That review and Monster Madness have definitely made this October for me. Keep up the good work, and be afraid! BE AFRAID OF… THE QUEST!
Awesome video James, even if you’re gonna review those you grew up with i certainly hope you’ll review Symphony of the Night as well seeing as you know it was the turning point in the series.
Awesome review, James. I was hoping you would bitch about the insane difficulty, I consider that almost a flaw but I suppose the payoff is all the sweeter once you finally beat the game. As for me I can’t beat death because I’m too FUCKING WINDED from trying to pass that ridiculous hall.
Seriously, I’m so glad you mentioned it because it’s why I haven’t been playing it lately, because it feels like an inevitability that I’ll just trudge through that MOTHERFUCKING hall again just to die at Death. It’s like I’m sisysphous and Konami’s Lord Hades.
Nice job. The older we get the easier and shorter (longer in some cases) games tend to be.
But a game/movie review fitting for this time of year would have to be E.T..
I know, I know. Making a comment like this is almost like a request. But I think it is almost fitting for this time of year. Possibly even as fitting as a Total Recall ensemble game/movie review.
But if scary, creepy (or just plain disgusting) is what your after in regards to a game review, check out Abadox for a few ‘What the hell?’ moments. A review of that I think will make you a bit weezy.
A good review. Your expression changing after your first death was the highlight: “A masterpiece! …….. FUCK YOU!!”
I hope you knock out the Sega Genesis and SNES Castlevanias if there’s enough to rip on.
If you want a REAL SHIT-FEST, look up the Sega Master System game: “MASTER OF DARKNESS”. It’s the most blatant Castlevania rip off ever, except it’s about Jack the Ripper (and Frankenstein, Vampires, et al), AND that the game really sucks ass because it’s so fucking boring.
Nice to see you reviewing a “good” game. But I hope that won´t happen to often.
Now I am hoping that the N64 castlevania also appears in this series.
Christopher Bee *loool*
What’s the difference between capturing magic and sucking the life out of things? Brain cells masturbation or that thing we call intellectualism is a pervert habit that kills off the first impression purpose to a lame comfort zone sharing thoughts about entertainment. Forget about the fan base and go professional, I am one of these and I don’t want to be guilty of some alternate reality potential massacre. That’s inspiring. Maybe I should’ve STFU that rather than KoalaHijynx’s reproached comment about post position
i’ve never liked any castlevania game, maybe cause i was a C64 kid, and wasn’t there at the start of the series with a NES (too expensive, yes i’m that poor), and going back and playing some old games is hard, some classics never die and too others time does them no favor.
you wanna see a bad castlevania game? try the Amiga version, it’s damn awful.
Dude I love Castlevania games. Except for some of the new ones. However this one I have to say is really hard but pure classic and awesome. When you mentioned about that hallway before you get to death I immediately started laughing because I know how DIFFICULT it is. And when you get to death, if you can make it, you might only have a little bit of life left not enough to survive 5 seconds. I still haven’t beat this one but I am determined to. One thing you should of also mentioned is that his jump is stiff. He jumps at a predetermined distance which means you have to be in the right spot to jump over something like a medusa head or a gap. Its not like Mario’s jump.
a the great 8bit melody of “Vampire Slayer” and “Wicked Child”, this game was fucking awesome for its time.
one of the best “early” games for me on the NES.
Simons quest was great, its like another “Battle of Olympus”, its different yeah but i liked it.
Okay this Day/Night Change sucked a little
Yeah, with all these horrible remakes coming out, it’s only natural for James to do a remake of his original review. I think he should give it a Hollywood twist and totally screw it up. Hell, even get someone else to review it like Rob Zombie
I’ve always wanted to get into the series and I own 3 for NES and the first two gameboy titles but they’re just too damn hard, especially the gameboy games. Simon moves too damn slow and his jumping is just slightly better than billy and jimmy lee’s. The music kicks ass in these games though so it’s alright. Good review.
Nice work James. The original Castlevania was the first NES game I ever played, and is still one of the hardest I’ve ever seen. Like you, I finally finished it just this year! You’re so right on about Dracula’s second form; if you take even one hit in the initial battle, it’s almost like a death sentence. Frustrating as hell.
Looking forward to the N64 Castlevania games. Oh God, do they suck!
Thats pretty funny that people are still asking James to review Castlevania 2 again when his marathon is clearly already shooted and surely edited, as the whole Monster Madness is surely too. But actually I would like to see it reviewed a second time too ! And the third one too !!!!! Thats so funny !!!!
Maybe one day it will be a real review of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde too =D
The guy that holds the record for beating that game has it recorded and ready for download. Its utterly insane how fast he beats it. The Battletoads one mesmerized me as well.
Ha-ha! Great! I love Castlevania series! Review is awesome! And the image is much more colourful and likable than in previous series of AVGN. Does Mike changed the technology of making of those images? James, maybe you could start making the wallpapers from those pictures?
I liked the “If all I had to do is whip the walls when I was hungry. If this wall would break… and theres a f%$&*ing pork chop in this wall I would so eat it!” best quote ever.
One thing tho… no mention of the time metter and how annoying it is to be limited in the exploration of such a great game with such a trivial and pointless feature. You’re probably going to talk about it in the other parts… I hope!
Also, a side note; Nintendo’s game developers didn’t take the comeback of videogames seriously, everyone at that time was under the impression that there would be another video game crash and that they were basicly wasting their time trying to revive something that was dead. That should explain the alteration of celebrities name at the end of the game.
Being a game developer in the NES era was anything but a walk in the park.
If you think Castlevania is hard, try playing it’s precurser Vampire Killer on the MSX. Hold on to your pants, read the following twice to let it sink into your brain: there are no health bonuses, there are no continues, no extra lives, no level codes that I know of.
You just got three lives, and that’s it, you gotta finish the entire ffing game with that.
But oh, no, we’re not done yet. You see, if you try to play with the keyboard, you’re screwed. Because the jump button and climb stairs buttons, is both “up”. That’s right, you wanna climb stairs, it’ll jump, you need to jump to avoid certain death, it’ll start climbing that stairs and then you’re dead.
Of course, the joystick does have a separate jump and climb button. It’s like the creators said, “Oh, so you were to cheap to buy a joystick, huh? Or maybe your parents were just too poor, poor little Jimmy? Well, fuck you right up the ass!”
It would be kind of funny if James didn’t review Castlevania 2, but instead reviewed the first ANN video. Sort of like a commentary, possibly MST3K style. That was still one of the surprisingly funniest videos I’ve seen in a while.
Oh man, thanks to the AVGN, I won’t ever be able to hear the night music from CV2 with a straight face. I swear that song is so perfect for what it’s been used for.
As soon as I saw the words Castlevania I got excited. The Castlevania games were my dad’s favorites, so I grew up watching my dad play them, and of course playing them myself.
i think the credits were supposed to be semi-homages, but they just… weren’t.
also, i hope you bring at least some attention to the music of the series. castlevania’s music just plain kicks ass.
I think this is the best in a long time. To be honest, some of the more recent ones aren’t so good. But I could see why, you looked over-worked and extremely tired, like you needed to crash on the couch while the theme song was playing. Also, ReesiePuffs, it was supposed to be a joke. Just wasn’t funny. But mistranslation might be why the Turkey is called pork chops, the word for meat is the same for (chicken meat), pork, (turkey meat), beef, etc. in Japanese.
YES!!! I’m so happy you’re doing Castlevania! One of my favorite game series! That first one tormented me as a kid, a teenager, and now as an adult. Please do one for Super Castlevania IV. That one is one of my favorites.
“Death himself takes orders from Dracula”
- The Angry Video Game Nerd, Castlevania part 1
“Death itself takes its orders from him[Dracula]”
- The Game Overthinker, episode 1
Is this some coincidence or, now that they both work for Screw Attack, they share some lines?
hey, well id like to say, me and my gf are hardcore fans, we have been hooked on your AVGN and later on everything else youve made, we are both norwegians, i know its a low chance of you even reading this but we just wanted to say: thanks for all the great videos and this new one aswell, we are waiting exitedly for your next videos, and we would like to inform you that just in my home town, you have a fan base of well over 3000 people who totaly love your work. have a nice day and i hope you prosper further
Great video James. Cant wait for the next episode/episoeds(?). I m counting on at least 3.
I also hope for a fight betwean the AVGN and the count himself.
I have made and sent you a song I did from scratch where I mixed the AVGN theme song with a castlevania song “Begining”. Pleas listen to it if you feel like it.
Couldn’t have come at a better time. I, like, some of these other folks commenting, also just beat Castlevania (and Castlevania III) for the first time. SO GRATIFYING. Then I’ve been going through all of the other good old school CV games right up to and including Symphony of the Night.
Best piece of advice for all of these games: always get Holy Water. Especially CV and CV III.
Now the question is, do you have the balls to take on Rondo of Blood? Well, do you? BETTER SAY YES, DAMMIT
Mebe James wanted to redo his Castlevania 2 review to update it. Seeing as it was his first review, and seeing how his reviews have evolved, it wouldn’t surprise me if he does CV2 again.
…I mean, great! AVGN is doing a Castlevania review! That’s oen of my favorite series of all time… I ‘ve truly taken the time to know it all over, so I can’t say there’s anything not to look forward to now!
Awesome review…I’d always wondered what someone with your knowledge of old movies thought of the very odd credits at the end of this game. I still think Belmondo sounds more European than Belmont…I’d be curious to know if anyone knows what the development team was smoking when they dreamed up those strange names. And I remember the arguments with my buddies about the turkey leg, ham, err, giant pork chop…lol.
The end of this review had me laughing so hard that I almost choked! You cannot escape the suckness that is Simon’s Quest…HA HA HA!!!
nicely done, i wish the nerd would review the better nes games like castlevania, even the best games you can find stuff to rip on, except the zelda games those fuckers are awesome.
Hey James, this is my first comment. I’ve wanted to tell you for awhile that your videos have great production value. I’ve worked for a production studio for the past 4 years and I’ve seen some real garbage, but your segments are done with great care. Good luck with your future productions, I’ll be watching.
This is my second comment on this list and I just wanted to say that I joined this site not long ago. In fact I joined yesterday mainly because you were doing a castlevania marrathon review and plus I like all you AVGN reviews they are just so funny. My favotite Castlevania game would have to be Super Castlevania IV on the SNES. Can’t wait until you review that one.
This game is hard as fuck. I spent years tring to defeat it on a nes with no cheating and eventually gave up. It is as hard as my penis delivering a big facial.
The first Castlevania game I played was “The Castlevania Adventure” at Game Boy. It was fucking ridiculous. The game was so goddamn hard I never beat it. It stands there on my shelf of shame together with “Turrican” and (until this date) “Metroid Prime 2 – Echoes”.
Very nice. I have to think that it’s almost coincidentally cool that you have a thing for horror or horror-themed games. Considering that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays ever. I’m on pins and needles for Castlevania IV. Probably one of my favorite Castlevania games ever. If those of you only played the post Symphony of the Night games, and you have a Wii; it may be in your best interest to pick up 4. It definitely ranks in the area of *best whip control ever* in a Castlevania game. It showed off some of those rotoscoping SNES effects and it was a thrill ride from start to finish.
You didn’t have all that going back and forth, stores, collections, Metroid-style area unlocking after getting some item hidden somewhere, and all of that BS. You were marching your butt straight towards the boss, no side-tracking. That’s old school. However, it was also straight up action all the way. As was mentioned before, already good music was getting *awesome* at this point. However, I think the gameplay is what ruled the roost with this one. Not to mention, again, the best whip ever.
I loved the review, but I was wondering if you would notice something odd, James. I don’t know, but most people don’t seem to notice this and I did way back when Castlevania 2 came out. Simon’s last name changed. In Castlevania, the one you reviewed, if you watch the credit roll at the end, of which you mentioned the play on famous 1930 and 40’s horror movie actors, you would have seen that Simon’s last name was not originally Belmont, but Belmondo. Look at the credit roll again, you’ll see what I mean.
@Martin Ekdahl – Man I forgot all about Castlevania The Adventure. It is without a doubt the hardest of all the NES era Castlevania games…plus has some great creepy moments with giant rolling eyeballs and such. I beat it a few times (and threw my gameboy across the room more than once)…as I recall you have to get and never lose the fireball whip and then get really, really lucky (ie stupid spike levels). Drac’s second form on that game is a major PITA…now I think I remember why I never played that game again.
I wonder if is worthy of being reviewed by the AVGN during this marathon? It surely has some very worthy Rolling Rock and curse happy moments for even the most hardcore gaming nerd.
im glad to see him pointing out the faults of great games now, it shows that although they are some of the greatest video games of all time, no game is perfect (with the possible exception of uncharted 2, with all the hype its getting)
I signed up just so I can post a comment here and now. Been a fan for blah blah… Love your vids J. ( most of them not just avgn. ) Been a big time gamer for a verry long time. Castlevania is among my favorite game series and I do so hope you do a symphony of the night even though it is a little new for avgn. I would like to hear what you have to say on it.
Man, I love AVGN style, it works so well, even on classics !
And that cliffhanger… wow !
I was in my bed, 2:15 AM (in France), just finished watching the video on my iPod, but I HAD TO boot my PC and come post a comment, I’m just so excited, I can hardly wait for part 2.
I can’t believe how much effort you put into your videos, James Rolfe (look at the new Monster Madness, it’s crazy !! It’d take me a week to prepare one of the reviews, and I’m sure I’d make it shitty…), you must be a genius or something, everything you try becomes GOLD !!
So, I know by experience that making videos is REALLY draining, and that must be REALLY true for you, looking at the quality of your videos, but man, keep it up, I also know the satisfaction that comes with finishing a great video, and as you must know by now, you are considered THE BEST by thousands of people, so you can’t mess up with us, or we’ll come and force you to make videos !!
Well, forgot that last sentence and take it easy, you’re the man.
Hey its great to see ya review the Castlevania series!
I was a big fan growing up to it too! Keep up the great work James and I can’t wait to see the rest of this film!
Holy Water owns Dracula so bad. It’s the only way I can consistently beat him.
Castlevania is probably my second-favorite game franchise. Oddly enough, I prefer Castlevania 3 to SotN (Well, aside from that damn falling-block level, and the ‘boss marathons’). I’ll be looking forward to that review; I know you’ll treat it right!
Ok, so what’s weird is that even though you already reviewed part 2, I still really wanted you to review it again, and you played into this at the end there. How’d you know we as fans would feel this way? Is it because the game sucks so bad that we just want to see it given a horrible review over and over again? Or are you just that good that you knew we’d feel that way? Is anything I’m saying making any sense at all? Should I just shutup now?
Hahaha that was hilarious at the end. Castlevania II, your first review comes back to haunt you. It will be interesting to see how – if, you are able to get around it!
first muahahahahahaha
I love those brief clips in the beginning with the Castlevania mentions throughout the AVGN videos. Sort of like the shit/fuck reel stuff or one of the video introductions this year that showed a ton of rolling rock guzzling scenes in a matter of seconds.
could have been first ironwater14, but I just watched it, third hahahahahaha
great video, loved it!
Awesome and classic no question about that. Got this puppy when it game first out of the litter.
Who cares?
Great vid J man.
To the guys saying 1st and 3rd >_____>
I hope he shows the Japanese version of Castlevania 3 too so people can hear the enhanced music and that Grant can throw knives as his normal attack
I hope he reviews Castlevania 2 again!
cant wait till part 2
10th and 11th muahahahahahahahaha :: cough cough:: hahahahahahahahah
Yes!! I’m so glad you chose Castlevania as your Halloween reviews. Symphony of the Night probably won’t be on the list, but I’ll enjoy everything else regardless.

AWESOME titlecard! I haven’t seen it yet but it looks awesome.
FUCK! i dont have enough bandwidth to watch it ordownload it
seriously 20GB’s of bandwidth a month isnt enough
I’ve only played post-Symphony of the Night Castlevania games, so I’m excited to learn more about the older ones! It’s amazing how similar the first one looks to Symphony of the Night, though… everything from enemies to bosses to items to level design. Not that that’s a bad thing.

Kinda hard to get angry at a good game, irus.

very good, another good review about a good game
GREEN STRANGER
Great review! Lots of clever stuff in this one that makes it pretty damn funny. My favorite : breaking “the 4th wall” when you cut to the script of the episode!!!!
James you are amazing. Doing Monster Madness and still finding time to do a review marathon. Loved the review. Cant wait for part 2.
I think Simon’s Quest deserves to be revisted. That game inspired the AVGN we have today, after all. Do it, James.
I went back and watched it after watching this. It’s still classic.
Dude, that’s just too funny. Simon’s Quest must be reviewed… AGAIN! That review and Monster Madness have definitely made this October for me. Keep up the good work, and be afraid! BE AFRAID OF… THE QUEST!
Nice Vid!

love it!
your work really stuns me

amazing, simply amazing, u somehow manage to pull of a great review while still caught in the MM stuff… thats just great, keep up the good work
Great Review and uh oh Simons Quest again.. haha nice.
Hey, cool vid! =D Didn’t expect you would review again a Castlevania game. At least the AVGN acknowledged a game even for just once =D
And– oh my, you will review Castlevania II again!? Can’t wait for the next part
Nice vid, James
Thanks!

I loved the ending! Yay! The AVGN is going to revisit Simon’s Quest *shudders* after 5 long years! Can’t wait!
Woot! I’ll watch when I get home later today.
Yeah, I was waiting for this!!!! Thanks James!
And please, review Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest again
I am also interested in seeing other Castlevania games that were released in Japan and on other consoles like Game Boy.
Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Hyde too =D
Nooo james! not simons quest!! its not worth it! think of the childeren! lol great vid, glad to see the castlevania music has a major presence.
Hey has anyone checked out http://speeddemosarchive.com/gamelist/FullList.html
The guy that holds the record for beating that game has it recorded and ready for download. Its utterly insane how fast he beats it. The Battletoads one mesmerized me as well.
Great review james. Cant wait for part 2.
Dude one of the best reviews so far. I love castlevania. Good to see you with a rollin rock again.lol
You the man!!!
Ha-ha! Great! I love Castlevania series! Review is awesome! And the image is much more colourful and likable than in previous series of AVGN. Does Mike changed the technology of making of those images? James, maybe you could start making the wallpapers from those pictures?
P.S: Sorry for my bad English
HA! I love the ending. Damn game haunting you again. Oddly enough i recently finished playing Castlevania 3 a few weeks ago.
i HIGHLY approve of this review!
Good review once again James… I mean Nerd.
HA! Loved it! So awesome.
Brilliant!!! I’m really exited about the second part…
Hory Shid, that was great! Please, please, PLEASE hit up CV2 again. Can’t wait till tomorrow…

MAN this is my favorite video game series of all time.
Great review.
my copy of castle vania is in black and white. i think it may be a bad cartrige. by the way check out king kong vs godzilla comments
Ohh James it was epiiiic!
We DEMAND a new CV2 video! Not that the first one was so bad…
That was a pretty good episode, wasn’t expecting CastleVania at all, so it was a surprise. Good thing you found ways to nit pick at it!
Nice cliffhanger at the end, too. It would be hilarious if you re – review Simon’s Quest again.
My personal favorite is Super Castlevania 4.
After how far you’ve come since the first episode, a second review of Simon’s Quest is more than appropriate.
Also, those credits may just have been mis-translated Engrish.
i wonder when James will start recording in HD? no big deal, just wondering. love your videos.
i think the credits were supposed to be semi-homages, but they just… weren’t.
also, i hope you bring at least some attention to the music of the series. castlevania’s music just plain kicks ass.
You gotta have Castlevania 4 in there somewhere in the next parts.
Best music in a videogame EVER!
that was awesome james keep it commin!
Classic game, but I could never got past Frankenstein.
I can’t wait until you review Castlevania 3, the only game I owned on the NES, besides Mario and Duck Hunt…good luck for me I loved it.
But of course, the Nerd can’t skip Simon’s Quest…
hey, well id like to say, me and my gf are hardcore fans, we have been hooked on your AVGN and later on everything else youve made, we are both norwegians, i know its a low chance of you even reading this but we just wanted to say: thanks for all the great videos and this new one aswell, we are waiting exitedly for your next videos, and we would like to inform you that just in my home town, you have a fan base of well over 3000 people who totaly love your work. have a nice day and i hope you prosper further
Great AVGN video.
A classic game and it fits the season.
I never played the other parts.
I only played the 1st one.
Great review James

Looking forward to your review of Super Castlevania IV. My all time favorite game!
Great nerd ep, James Polfe!
Awesome! That special effect at the end was really fucking cool.
Hell yeah, review simon’s quest a second time!
Ever thought about doing a chronologically confused about Castlevania? heh
love castlevania 3. good vid james. are u going to do some of the newer castlevania games allo looking forward to see a rob the robot review
to optics it is not james polfe it is rolfe
Mebe James wanted to redo his Castlevania 2 review to update it. Seeing as it was his first review, and seeing how his reviews have evolved, it wouldn’t surprise me if he does CV2 again.
Hehe, I think we might get a re-review of a shitty game.
pretty good review James, as always.
YEEESSSSS!!!!!! YEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!
a-HURMMM!!!
…I mean, great! AVGN is doing a Castlevania review! That’s oen of my favorite series of all time… I ‘ve truly taken the time to know it all over, so I can’t say there’s anything not to look forward to now!
Now, if you’ll excuse me…
YEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!! YEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!
@smb3
You’re an idiot who clearly didn’t watch this episode.
P.S. What do I do with the red crystal??!?!?
I wonder what james thinks of the new castlevania trailor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y8F0dQM1DI&feature=fvw
nicely done, i wish the nerd would review the better nes games like castlevania, even the best games you can find stuff to rip on, except the zelda games those fuckers are awesome.
Hey James, this is my first comment. I’ve wanted to tell you for awhile that your videos have great production value. I’ve worked for a production studio for the past 4 years and I’ve seen some real garbage, but your segments are done with great care. Good luck with your future productions, I’ll be watching.
Best AVGN ending ever haha
I have never met a Castlevania fan before but you must be one. Great vid James. You always make learning fun.
Can’t wait for the next ep. “What a horrible night to have a sequel”.
Once again, you made me laugh out loud. I don’t understand how you do it to beat yourself everytime.
Fuckness:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fuckness
This one is a funny masterpiece! James keeps getting better. Not only as a Regisseur, but also as an Actor!
I got rid of my fridge. I put all my food in the wall now.

Any fan of the Castlevania series will also love this track, “Soul Dracula” by Hot Blood:
http://www.studiojfish.com/museic/hotblood-souldracula.mp3
It surely has some very worthy Rolling Rock and curse happy moments for even the most hardcore gaming nerd.
if you guys want lockerz.com (free stuff) invite email me at kappr2@gmail.com thnx… james great review cant wait till part 2!
Yes! Please do the review of Simons Quest again! It is what got me interested in AVGN in the first place! Awesome idea. I love it.
~
im glad to see him pointing out the faults of great games now, it shows that although they are some of the greatest video games of all time, no game is perfect (with the possible exception of uncharted 2, with all the hype its getting)
Another great review James, and I though I would mention that you got featured in a British Retro Magazine, Retro Gamer.
PS: I don’t take orders from Dracula I follow him willingly.
PSS: The option to edit a persons own post right about now would be nice.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an excellent game but, if you don’t play as Richter Belmont it does not have that Castlevania feel.
My bet is that AVGN will stop at Super Castlevania 4.
I think James should use the original NES,, not the top loader… Better yet,, do a review on how much the thing bogged.
OH OH OH, next Board James review
13 Dead End Drive
Anyone ever play that game, or am I just crazy?
GREAT video.
A return to top form.
Hahaha that was hilarious at the end. Castlevania II, your first review comes back to haunt you. It will be interesting to see how – if, you are able to get around it!
The video on Castlevania 1 was awesome! Thanks!
Hilalrious man whens the next one?
^_^ i really enjoy this one
when is part 2 coming?
